Will Writing
Make your wishes clear and take the pressure off your loved ones.
✅ Fixed-fee Will packages (no hidden costs)
✅ Tailored advice based on your circumstances
✅ Clear, jargon-free guidance throughout.
A Will is one of the most important documents you’ll ever create – it puts you in control. You decide who inherits what, name guardians for your children, leave personal gifts, and even share your funeral wishes. Without one, your estate is handled under the rules of intestacy — and that may not reflect your wishes, especially in modern family setups.
I’ll guide you through the process step-by-step, making sure everything is sorted properly and legally. Whether it’s your first Will or you’re updating an existing one, I’m here to make it as straightforward as possible.
Trusts & More Complex Needs
Extra peace of mind for families with more to protect.
✅ Will Trusts tailored to your situation
✅ Help protecting children, vulnerable people or specific assets
✅ Fixed-fee options for more complex Wills
If your circumstances are a little more complex – maybe you have a blended family, vulnerable beneficiaries, or other concerns – you might benefit from adding a trust to your Will. Trusts can offer greater flexibility and control, and can be used to manage inheritance, protect property, or reduce inheritance tax.
I’ll walk you through the options in plain English and help you choose what’s right for your family.
Lasting Powers of Attorney
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a separate document from a Will, but many people choose to set them up at the same time as part of their estate planning.
An LPA is a legal document that allows you to appoint one or more individuals (your attorneys) to make decisions on your behalf if you are ever unable to do so yourself. It gives you control over who steps in if you need help, or if an accident or illness affects your mental capacity.
You can create an LPA using the Online Service or by completing the necessary paper forms, then registering the signed document with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). While it’s possible to create an LPA yourself, the process can be more complex than it appears. Mistakes may make the document ineffective or invalid when you need it most.
Are there different types of Lasting Powers of Attorney?
There are two types of LPA:
- Health and Welfare LPA: This allows your attorneys to make decisions about your day-to-day care, medical treatment, and life-sustaining decisions.
- Property and Financial Affairs LPA: This allows your attorneys to manage your finances, including paying bills, collecting benefits, managing bank accounts, or selling your home.
I offer fixed-fee packages for both types of LPA, including registration where required. You can find more details on what’s included and the fees below.
Tenancy Severance
Make sure your property plans match your Will.
✅ Check how your property is legally owned
✅ Help severing a joint tenancy if needed
✅ Essential for property trusts or sharing inheritance
If you co-own your home, it’s important to know whether you own it as joint tenants or tenants in common – it affects what you can leave in your Will.
I can:
- Check your ownership status with the Land Registry
- Help you sever a joint tenancy, so your share passes under your Will rather than directly to the other owner
This is often necessary when including a property protection trust or when your wishes differ from standard inheritance rules.
Tax & Estate Planning
Make the most of your estate and leave more behind for the people you love.
✅ Review your estate and potential tax exposure
✅ Identify opportunities to reduce inheritance tax
✅ Practical suggestions based on your goals
Good estate planning isn’t just about writing a Will; it’s about structuring your assets in a way that protects what you’ve built.
I can help assess your current position and suggest steps to:
- Make full use of inheritance tax allowances
- Plan for lifetime gifts or trusts
- Minimise the tax burden on your family
It’s all about helping you pass on more of what matters, with less stress and uncertainty.
